About the founder
Jéan Roux
Jéan has spent over 35 years building systems that turn data into decisive action — first in the South African Defence Force, then across global enterprises, and now for the leaders he serves through GoThrive.
A career built on making information work
Jéan started as a consultant at Infomet and IBM, where he led the IT Architecture practice — aligning technology deployments with business strategy for enterprise clients. He rose to COO of e-volution, a digital services company, before joining T-Systems South Africa. There he managed the Computing division — 450 staff and €110 million in annual revenue, spanning mainframe through to Unix and Windows midrange — and advanced into the solution-crafting unit supporting SAP sales and implementation.
His longest tenure was at MineRP (Epiroc group), a global mining software company, where he spent 13+ years as an executive. As Global Services Manager and SVP of Services & Partners, he led worldwide teams that implemented and supported mine planning and operational control solutions for some of the world's largest mining operations. He also drove partnerships with companies like GE and Deloitte to take digital transformation and Industry 4.0 thinking into the mining sector.
The unusual foundation
Jéan holds a Bachelor of Military Science (B.Mil) degree from Stellenbosch University — in Computer Systems, Electronics and Physics — a science-oriented foundation built within the Faculty of Military Science. He served 8 years in the Defence Force, including the Parachute Forces, where he developed leadership and operational discipline that has shaped every professional engagement since.
